Next phase of life was charted accountancy, a rare discipline of education at that time when every student was yearning to become doctor and engineer. And in the second year of CA, his life took a U turn. An event that brought immense changes in his life. Introduction and joining of Dawateislami, international non-political, non-profit Islamic organization which is propagating Islamic knowledge and enlightening the message of Islam across the globe .Soban became disciple of Maulana Ilyas Qadri Sahib, an internationally acclaimed scholar of Islam, writer, Sufi saint and founder of Dawateislami. Dominant feature of his personality which impressed Soban was his actions, not only words, but practical approach towards Islam.

Responsibilities of Soban Attari in Dawateislami

Ilyas Qadri Sahib’s message is peace and his style is so unique and appealing that Dawateislami is progressing rapidly. Like millions, lifestyle and mindset of Soban was also changed. He was assigned education department of Dawateislami, as provincial head. His duty was to influence youth, specially students and teachers and propagate the invitation of goodness among them.  

So a new journey started, Soban worked day and night to establish this new wing of Dawateislami .Primary focus was Universities. To gather all the scattered resources and establish a new system, resource mobilization was a daunting challenge at that time. Soban’s talent of public speaking and leadership were the key ingredients in clearing the obstacles and way towards progress. Affectionate patronage and supervision of his spiritual mentor, Ilyas Qadri sahib, worked wonders. Goals were met. People were shocked to see the results. 

Work Approach

His topic, especially scientific approach towards Islam, Islam and Science became his brand. His speech encompasses wide ranging topics from basic Islamic teachings to general motivation, social ills and their solution, ethics and moral values. At the time of writing this article Soban is famous for his talks on Islam and science. 

Furthermore, his Podcasts, programs and short clips on goal setting, leadership, problem solving and other related topics of personality development are widely liked and source of inspiration for people belonging to all walks of life. After these accomplishments,  next target was medical doctors and hospitals. One of the busiest and most important professional of our society. 

With his old connections, charismatic personality and laser sharp logics, Soban got their attention, built a team and started visiting the institutes for the noble cause. Many joined and this caravan started progressing day- by- day. That initial working with devotion and loyalty bore fruit. Doctors started celebrating Meelad of Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) , travelling in Madani Qafla, left mal practices, doing short courses and became practicing Muslims .

Welfare Activities:

Soban Attari, known for his noble cause, has extensively traveled across Pakistan, making a significant impact. One noteworthy aspect of Soban’s personality is his dedication to welfare and philanthropy. During the challenging days of the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, when the world was grappling with severe health and financial crises, Ilyas Qadri Sahib initiated a nationwide blood collection drive. Soban Attari was entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the drive in the Punjab region. In addition to various projects aimed at uplifting the general population, Ilyas Qadri Sahib’s focus extended to one of the most vulnerable segments of society, the thalassemia patients, for whom fresh blood transfusions are essential for survival. A massive blood collection drive was initiated under this initiative, spearheaded by Soban Attari as part of his impactful biography. 

Soban started the project in Punjab with devoted workers, observing all the recommended protective measures .Credible organizations like Shoukat khanum memorial hospital, Sundas foundation etc. became partners. Initial assessment was done, areas were selected, and Soban travelled across Punjab, started a proper media campaign and gave talks to channels. He Interviewed prominent medical experts, and started the project with full zeal and zest. He used to visit the camps before and after the blood collection procedure for performance evaluation and feedback. Till date Dawateislami collected more than 55,000 bags of blood and still counting. Soban’s share is more than 10000 bags. During the campaign Soban visited several thalassemia centers, interviewed patients and parents and recorded programs for public awareness.

Another notable activity is plantation. Climate change is the fact of life and it’s happening right now. Global warming is eroding the entire fabric of Earth and one of the most important steps to tackle the situation is plantation. Green is the game changer .FGRF welfare division of Dawateislami started plantation drive and Soban was, once more, given core responsibility. He recorded many programs and short clips on the importance of plantation, all these were broadcasted on madani channel and other mainstream social media .He visited many educational institutes , government and private offices and done plantation with VC’s, HOD’s, Principals, high grade officers and delivered lectures among students for proper awareness about one of the most important activity

When the team of professional doctors was well built, Soban managed free eye testing, blood screening camps for the students and teachers of madrasah and Jamia .Thousands were given free medical counseling, medicines and glasses. This philanthropy activity spread across Pakistan. Beneficiaries were mostly those who belong to lower middle class category of society.

 In 2022, heavy rainfall and floods have submerged almost one-third of Pakistan. In that crisis of unimaginable proportion, Soban Attari joined relief and recovery campaign for flood affected people with FGRF. His special focus was donations and medical camps as health and hygiene were major concerns in those areas .Soban visited Fazilpur and other south Punjab regions which were affected along with doctors. Medicines and other essential items were distributed among the affected people .Pictures and videos of all these tasks are available on social media 

Soban supervised many welfare projects of FGRF (Faizan Global Relief Foundation), especially blood collection for thalassemia patients, plantation and flood relief activities. He managed several blood donation camps across Pakistan and collected more than 10,000 bags of blood. He has done plantations in many educational institutions, private and public offices along with notable dignitaries. He also delivers lectures among students and runs a social media campaign to create awareness among the masses. He organised relief and recovery activities especially medical camps in flood affected areas.
